The Commonwealth Home Support Programme is an entry level home help program for older people who need some help with daily tasks to live independently at home and in the community. It helps older people stay living in their own homes today, or altogether avoid the need to move to more complex forms of aged care. It facilitates consumer choice to enhance the independence and wellbeing of older people and ensure that services are responsive to the needs of consumers.
FCCVI offers social support through its Social Support Groups (SSG) and Social Support Individual (SSI). It provides socialization through various social activities and friendly visits to reduce isolation, opportunities to meet people who share common interests and culture.
At present, we have five (5) organised Social Support Groups, two (2) in Footscray, one (1) group in Craigieburn, and two (2) groups in Epping and we are looking forward to form more groups throughout Victoria.
We provide services to Social Support Individual through accompanied activities (various appointments and shopping), Home Visits, telephone/web contact.
