The 18-member delegation of the Filipino Deaf Basketball team have arrived in Melbourne! The team will compete in the Asia-Pacific Deaf Basketball Competition, taking place from 21 to 30 September 2024 at the State Basketball Centre in Wantirna South.
The team were welcomed at the Philippine Consulate General, Melbourne today. Care packs for the players were organised and donated by the Filipino Community Council of Victoria Incorporated.
This visit is organised by the Philippine Consulate Office, led by Consul General Maria Lourdes Salcedo, with support from Niel Tequin, Director of the Filipino Ballers Club; Lulu Lorenzo of Kababaihan Rizalista Inc.; and Walter Villagonzalo of the Knights of Rizal.

The team consists of players from Quezon Province, Ilocos Sur, Baguio, North Cotabato, Bulacan, Quezon City, and Caloocan City. They are eager to connect with fellow Filipinos from their home regions.
